I love my life...

My sweet baby boy turned 5 months old a few days ago. It is hard for me to believe it. I love this age and I love being able to stay at home with him, watching him grow every minute. This month:
-he loves to laugh at Ozzy...he thinks his dog is sooooo funny!
-his favorite baby foods are green beans and pears
-he is fitting into 6-9 month clothes, but of course they are a little long for him since he is in the 15% for height.
-has discovered his tongue
-enjoys playing in his exersaucer
-has a pretty set schedule and sleeps really well
-rolls over
-loves it when his daddy comes home

It is so amazing to see the growth and development that babies go through at such a rapid pace. He is changing and getting more and more personality everyday. Mark comes home from work most days and swears that he looks taller. We've had a lot of fun with him this month. We were able to go to our ward Christmas party(until we had to take him home early due to over-stimulation), Bethlahem in Burnet, Zilker Park, and lots more. Anyways. Here are some pictures of our sweet baby.

Tis the Season...

I absolutely love the Christmas holidays. Everything is just so much more exciting. Our house is full of decorations and we have our beautiful tree lit up every evening. Mark put up lots of pretty white lights outside on our house. It is finally getting colder so we can bundle up, drink hot chocolate, and have a fire. (and of course being able to wear hoodies all the time to hide the extra fat from eating too much this month). We get to go do fun things like the trail of lights and the Bethlahem scene out in Burnet. And of course, we can't forget about baking all of those yummy treats. But most of all, I love to spend time with our families. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I can't wait until everyone comes to town for Christmas. Just wanted to share some of my excitement with you. Here are some cute pics.

Food Food, Wonderful Food!

Mark and I went to get all of our groceries for Thanksgiving dinner today, and you wouldn't believe we got our turkey for 37 cents a pound! You gotta love the sales at Randall's. The funny thing is, I don't even really enjoy turkey. I am a ham kinda girl myself. This will be the first year that I make Thanksgiving dinner. I gotta admit, I am a little nervous, but I love trying new things in the kitchen. It will be an adventure. On another note.... I am soooo HAPPY that Mark is home. I had a nice time with family and friends while he was gone, but we sure did miss him while he was gone! Jaxon went to his four month check-up this week. The poor little guy; his head is in the 75%, weight is 55%, and his height is 15%! Maybe one day he will grow into his head! I think it makes him even cuter! Here are some random cute pictures this month.....

Jaxon loves his cousin Stephen

He always loves his grandpa time. He will laugh and laugh while he talks to him.

My baby is so BIG!!!

We tried rice cereal for the first time with Jaxon today. He did GREAT! I am actually surprised he would open his mouth every time I held the spoon to his mouth and he would swallow it all for the most part. Isn't it silly how exciting that is to a first time mommy???

What do you think????

So.... we have this awesome wrap thing someone gave us at my baby shower. It works wonders. It is really light so that Jaxon doesn't get hot and it keeps him wrapped while he sleeps. The reason why I have used it this whole time is because Jaxon wakes himself up constantly with his hands. I tried not wrapping him a couple of times at night and he would wake up like every hour. When he is wrapped in it, he sleeps for like 10-12 hours without waking himself up. As a result, he is still in the wrap. However, I am really trying to transition him out of it. This may be a little much, but I am also trying to transition into letting him put himself to sleep instead of having to be held and rocked to sleep. For his naptime today, I put him down after I fed him and gave him his binky and his lovee and let him be. He was so cute; he played with his hands for like 30 min. until it finally kicked in and he started crying. So I read this thing that said let them cry for a couple of min. and then go and give them the binky and comfort for a second and then leave again. So I did and he cried again for a couple of min. and you do it again for like 3 times in a row and see if it works. It was so hard for me to listen to that sad little cry. Finally the third time he fell asleep. Today is the first day that I have tried doing this. Is it worth still trying? I am not sure if it is a good idea or if I should just keep wrapping and rocking. Help!

Cutest Pumpkin on the block...

Jaxon's schedule was way off yesterday because we went to have lunch over at Kristi's house with a couple of women in the ward and their kids. So he didn't get his nap until 2:00. I'm can't believe how well he did because he usually goes down for nap at 11:30. Anyways, we headed to Jenny's house for trick-or-treating. The kids were so cute and Hayden had waited all year for this. Jaxon took his catnap in the stroller while we went. We had to cut it short though because Hayden started to get scared because of all the teenagers and their crazy costumes. We had a good time though. We headed home and Jaxon cried the whole way. He usually goes down at like 7:30 or 8:00 and it was already like 9:00. I thought for sure he would have a rough night, but he did the usual: got up to eat at 5:30 and went back down until almost 8. His first Halloween was a success!

3 Months....

I can't believe that my baby boy turned 3 months on the 18th. Time goes by so fast! He is getting so BIG! He has had a busy week growing up. On Monday he rolled over from his stomach to his back when he was doing tummy time. Crazy! Then on Tuesday he started reaching up and playing with the toys that are on his playmat, and not on accident either! I know these things sound so silly, but to me it just means that he is growing up so fast. It is exciting and sad for me at the same time. Before I know it, he will be a year old. Here are some pics of my sweet baby boy....

Grandparents are the best!!

Well, Jaxon decided to come into the world right when it was time for our family reunion that we have every two years. I was heartbroken as this is my favorite thing in the whole world! Of course Jaxon is worth it! Anyways, I thought I wouldn't get to see my grandparents again for another two years! I am so grateful to Aunt Kelly and Unle Kevin for coming down and bringing grandma and grandpa with them.

All about the hands....

Jaxon's newest thing is his hands. He is always sucking on his fingers or playing with them in front of his face while he is watching. Sometimes he even gets mad at them if they don't do what he wants them to do. I have a hard time taking pictures now because his fingers are all over the place. Here are some recent ones....

"I'm so glad when daddy comes home...."

I think by the end of the day Jaxon gets bored of hearing my voice and playing with me. It is so cute, everyday when Mark comes in the door and talks to Jaxon his face just lights up. He loves his daddy!

So, I can be crazy sometimes. I am constantly thinking about time. When it comes to breastfeeding, I am super bad about it. I feel like I always have to feed Jaxon right before we leave to go somewhere even if I had just fed him the hour before because what if I can't feed him right at the next three hour mark? I guess I would do this because I hate having to worry about when the next time he needs to eat is. So, today was a milestone for me. I decided I would feed him every three hours like I usually do, and wherever I was I would just deal with it. It was great. He ate at 6:15, I put him back down and went back to bed. I got up right before church to get both of us ready and brought a bottle to church for his next feeding. He did GREAT! What a good boy. He was awake for the first hour of church, nice and happy, and then slept through the rest of it. I didn't stress and I got to go to all of the classes; super nice!

If you like meatballs, you gotta try this recipe. It is SUPER easy and so yummy.
1 Bag of pre-cooked Homestyle meatballs
1 jar chili sauce
1 small jar grape jam
1 can of pineapple(with the juice)
Put it all in the crockpot on high for four hours and you're set!

On a completely different note, Jaxon goes in for his two month check up tomorrow. I am not looking forward to watching him scream and cry while they give him five shots. Hopefully I can hold the tears back myself. We'll see. At least Mark has the day off tomorrow so that will help out alot. Wish us luck!

It's Official...

Mark and I have become the kind of people who have nothing to say unless it has to do with Jaxon. I think it's just because we are at a point where nothing is ever new with us, but Jaxon is constantly changing. And you have to admit, when you have kids, no one cares about you anymore, they just care about the baby, which is totally okay. So, on that note, here are some more pictures of Jaxon.

I love the wrinkles on his forehead that make him look like an old man.
He is at the age where he smiles all of the time and loves attention.
We are keeping our fingers crossed that his eyes will stay blue. So far, so good.
Whoever invented the baby bjorn is amazing. Jaxon loves to face outward and looks around while I am able to get things done. Half of the time he even ends up falling asleep from all of the movement.

I think it is safe to say....

Jaxon sort of has his own schedule. It has been over two weeks now and Jaxon is still sleeping through the night. He goes down anywhere between 9 and 11 and sleeps all the way until 5 or 6, wakes up to eat, and goes back down until 8 or 9. I really do have an angel baby. It has been nice now that I can count on him sleeping, I get to work out in the mornings before Mark goes to work.

A day in the Park...

Jaxon loves being outside. He likes to look at the blue sky and he loves to watch the trees when the wind blows.
We've noticed that our little one has reached the stage where he loves attention. When you talk to him now he just coos and giggles at you.
Who looks just like their daddy?

Happy Family!!!

Jaxon's Baby Blessing

We were able to have Mark bless Jaxon on the 31rst. It was nice to be able to have family and friends join us for his special occasion. He slept through the blessing and Mark said that he was giggling in his sleep toward the end. What a sweet boy!
