Food Food, Wonderful Food!

Mark and I went to get all of our groceries for Thanksgiving dinner today, and you wouldn't believe we got our turkey for 37 cents a pound! You gotta love the sales at Randall's. The funny thing is, I don't even really enjoy turkey. I am a ham kinda girl myself. This will be the first year that I make Thanksgiving dinner. I gotta admit, I am a little nervous, but I love trying new things in the kitchen. It will be an adventure. On another note.... I am soooo HAPPY that Mark is home. I had a nice time with family and friends while he was gone, but we sure did miss him while he was gone! Jaxon went to his four month check-up this week. The poor little guy; his head is in the 75%, weight is 55%, and his height is 15%! Maybe one day he will grow into his head! I think it makes him even cuter! Here are some random cute pictures this month.....

Jaxon loves his cousin Stephen

He always loves his grandpa time. He will laugh and laugh while he talks to him.

My baby is so BIG!!!

We tried rice cereal for the first time with Jaxon today. He did GREAT! I am actually surprised he would open his mouth every time I held the spoon to his mouth and he would swallow it all for the most part. Isn't it silly how exciting that is to a first time mommy???

What do you think????

So.... we have this awesome wrap thing someone gave us at my baby shower. It works wonders. It is really light so that Jaxon doesn't get hot and it keeps him wrapped while he sleeps. The reason why I have used it this whole time is because Jaxon wakes himself up constantly with his hands. I tried not wrapping him a couple of times at night and he would wake up like every hour. When he is wrapped in it, he sleeps for like 10-12 hours without waking himself up. As a result, he is still in the wrap. However, I am really trying to transition him out of it. This may be a little much, but I am also trying to transition into letting him put himself to sleep instead of having to be held and rocked to sleep. For his naptime today, I put him down after I fed him and gave him his binky and his lovee and let him be. He was so cute; he played with his hands for like 30 min. until it finally kicked in and he started crying. So I read this thing that said let them cry for a couple of min. and then go and give them the binky and comfort for a second and then leave again. So I did and he cried again for a couple of min. and you do it again for like 3 times in a row and see if it works. It was so hard for me to listen to that sad little cry. Finally the third time he fell asleep. Today is the first day that I have tried doing this. Is it worth still trying? I am not sure if it is a good idea or if I should just keep wrapping and rocking. Help!

Cutest Pumpkin on the block...

Jaxon's schedule was way off yesterday because we went to have lunch over at Kristi's house with a couple of women in the ward and their kids. So he didn't get his nap until 2:00. I'm can't believe how well he did because he usually goes down for nap at 11:30. Anyways, we headed to Jenny's house for trick-or-treating. The kids were so cute and Hayden had waited all year for this. Jaxon took his catnap in the stroller while we went. We had to cut it short though because Hayden started to get scared because of all the teenagers and their crazy costumes. We had a good time though. We headed home and Jaxon cried the whole way. He usually goes down at like 7:30 or 8:00 and it was already like 9:00. I thought for sure he would have a rough night, but he did the usual: got up to eat at 5:30 and went back down until almost 8. His first Halloween was a success!
