Ward Christmas Party

I am on the activities committee so I had to go up to the church to set up at noon.  James was nice and watched Jaxon for me while I was gone.  It turned out to be a big success.  It looked beautiful, lots of people came, there was yummy food, and more.  Good times.

This pretty much sums up Jaxon:

 Before Jaxon gets to it.....

We pretty much had an awesome Thanksgiving!  We had tons of good food and played with the kiddos.  The boys got in a little bit of XBox time while the ladies got to chat.  Great start to the holidays.  I love my family!
Typical perfect Grammy playing with the youngins
The girls and Nick's girlfriend Kimberly's girls were mesmerized by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Isn't that cute?!
Best chef in the world!  Octavio brined the turkey overnight and I kid you not, the best turkey I have ever had!
Nick using my awesome electric carving knife for the first time on the YUMMY ham.

Hot stuff!

It was the Binghams, Shumways, and us.
Stupid camera was blurry.

We also got to take Jaxon camping for the first time a couple of weeks ago with some more good friends the Peritens, Knabs, and Christensens. Jaxon did great! He slept the whole night through.

And of course he loved being able to roam around free!

Camping '09

Sweet face...

Silly face...

Scary face!!!!
(A little too excited by lighter fluid)

Pondering face...

We had so much fun camping this weekend. We went to Pace Bend which has been a favorite spot of ours for a while now. We brought our ginormous tent(ten person) and all snuggled up when it was time to go to bed. Not really though. We scarfed down lots of junk and enjoyed laughing and games by the fire. Good times with good friends!

I LOVE cooking with my Crock-potI gotta admit that I probably make at least one crockpot meal a week.  They have to be one of the greatest inventions.  So, I was very skeptical about one of the ones I was going to try this week, but it actually turned out delicious!  Don't be afraid....

  1. Brown ground beef, onion and garlic in frypan.
  2. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, salt and oregano.
  3. Cook long enough to get it warm.
  4. Spoon a layer of meat sauce onto the bottom of the slow cooker.
  5. Add a double layer of uncooked lasagna noodles (break to fit) and top with cheeses.
  6. Repeat with sauce, noodles and cheeses until all are used up.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours.

16 months

I have been meaning to post some funny videos, but blogger changed a little and I can't figure out how to upload them.  Jaxon has been a blast lately.  I always thought that infants were my favorite, and in a way they still are, but I have to admit that everyday with Jaxon is more and more exciting for me.  I know that sometimes I get carried away with complaining about the little things, but the truth is I have the best job in the whole world.  I get to be there for every little thing that this cutie does from picking his first flower and practicing the word to yelling gibberish at his two doggies.  There is something new that he does everyday that I get to be there for.  I love it.  He turned 16 months yesterday and now the countdown begins till NURSERY!!  Only two more months of menacing through the halls while everyone else is enjoying class.  (maybe not everyone).  I love you Jaxon!!

The Fam on Halloween

Look at that fat kid in a little pirate costume!!

Me and my niece Cassidy...she was ready to get candy.

I love him!

I am on the activities committee and had to go early to set up so my friends Jessica and Emily were sweet and took on the monster for a few hours.  We had a chili cook-off and I made white chicken chili.  I didn't officially win, but I am pretty sure it was one of the best there:)  Jaxon enjoyed Trunk-or-Treating cause he got to stay up late and eat lollipops!

Cold Weather.
Gooey Marshmallows.
Graham Crackers.
What is not to love???

I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this time of year.  I love being able to spend more time outside walking, jogging, camping, playing with Jaxon, and just relaxing.  I love being able to open the windows and drink hot chocolate for a snack.  I love being able to decorate for the holidays, even though I skip Thanksgiving decorations and go straight for Christmas.  I am looking forward to the upcoming festivities that we have throughout the holidays this year!

Sweet Berry Farm Pumpkin Patch

Jaxon and I went with my sister, bro-in-law, and their two girls to Marble Falls to experience the Pumpkin Patch.  Of course we ended up going the day that it was 90 degrees outside, but we still had a good time overall.  Jaxon enjoyed being able to roam around all over the place.   Of course the kiddos were not so sure they liked the goats, but I thought the baby ones were cute.  I am excited to go back during the spring when they have all of their berries.

First Cheeser!

Jaxon usually ignores me when I am trying to take pictures of him but when I said cheese, he made this face.  He does it everytime I say cheese now.

Welcome to the family Bella!!

On Sunday Mark, Ozzy, and I drove up to Dallas to pick up Bella.  What a SWEETIE!  She is such a good dog.  We are so happy to have her!  The poor girl was living with an old woman who did not take very good care of her, and then she died so she ended up with a rescue.  The discovered she had two benign tumors and had to have surgery to remove them.  She also had not been fixed yet so they did that as well.  Bella has a cold/allergy and is on antibiotics to clear it up....but in the mean time she has a horrible hacking cough(not fun during the night!).  Jaxon is sooooo excited to have two dogs he almost can't contain himself!  She fits right in!

This is what happens when Jaxon does not wear clothes....

Mark and I have talked about getting another Pomeranian for a while now.  We decided that we would look occasionally and if we ever came upon another dog that we thought would be a good fit for our family that we would go from there.  Well I have been looking off and on for some time now.  The other day I stumbled upon this cutie:)  We have gone through the adoption process and it is official!  We are going to pick her up from DALLAS on Sunday!!  We are so excited!!!

HEB makes the best low-cal smoothies.  Strawberries and Cream light.
Love them!
(so does Jaxon)

The Lopez Family

Tami, Drew, and the kids were able to come visit for a week this month.  This is the first time that Jaxon was able to meet them.  He had sooo much fun.  I am sad these are the only pictures I took but Tami and Susan took more.  Elizabeth and Tyler kept Jaxon happy all week.  Jaxon loved Tami!  He warmed right up to her and even gave her lots of kisses:)  We had a great visit.  Thanks Tami!

First Official Hair Dye Party...Gone Bad??

Lauren, Jessica and I all wanted to get our hair done..but of course we had to do it ourselves cause it is WAY too expensive otherwise.  Jessica chose a beautiful dark brown and Lauren wanted just a few highlights.  I on the other hand waned drastic highlights to fix my two tone head of hair.  Let me tell you something about box highlights...NEVER EVER do them!!!  If you want highlights, get it done at a salon!  It will save you lots of trouble!  Jessica and Lauren's hair turned out beautiful.  I on the other hand looked like a (excuse my language) skunk hooker.  Soooo....the only thing we could think of to do was go and get a box of hair dye that was a darker blonde...and luckily it worked.  Sorry we didn't take after pictures...You'll just have to see us in person:)  Good times.

Desitin Man

When I am done with my shower in the mornings I open up the bathroom door so that Jaxon can run around. It took me a couple of minutes before I realized he was being really when I found Jaxon he had gotten into one of the old diaper bags that I had apparently left some diaper cream in and this is what happened. So of course I thought it was picture worthy, and then looked at the back of the desitin after and saw that it says to call poison control if they swallow any. What a great mom right?!
