Our Perfect Little Miracle

It is crazy to think that without modern medicine our little girl would not be with us today due to the complications of my pregnancy. Today she is one month old.

5 pounds 4 ounces
17 1/4 inches
eats every 3 hours
noisier than ever....sounds like a mosquito/goat
sleeps with her eyes open half of the time
has a love/hate relationship with swaddling
still in premie diapers and clothes

Little Miriam,
You wanted to come into this world showing us who was boss:) From the very beginning, you were perfect, just tiny. The NICU nurses told us that you are a little girl who thinks she is big. Because you were so little you should have had more difficulty breathing, eating, etc. However, you proved to us all that you were ready to take on the world; you continued to make huge progress each and every day and were able to come home after 12 days. You have not been here long, but so many people love you and have been praying for you already. We are so grateful to have you in our family. We love you sweet Miriam.

Heaven Sent

We are so grateful for all of the meals, thoughts, prayers, favors, help, and love from so many people since Miriam has arrived. I cannot begin to thank everyone enough.

Especially this angel here. My Mom. I could not have handled things as well without her.

At the ring of her phone she dropped everything and was here for us 110%. She was there for the birth. The joy. The fears. The tears. Everything.
I didn't even have to think twice about Jaxon being cared for and all of day to day things like laundry, cleaning, errands, etc. Without being asked, she is always there DOING. She is also there when I need to just be sad and cry, or laugh and smile. She is always serving, and never complaining. She is an example of what I want to be. I hope one day I will be like you Mom:) I love you. Thank you for all that you do, not just during this crazy time for us, but always!

Christmas Bundle

We got to bring this little bundle of joy home on Christmas Eve.

I never thought I would be so completely happy to stay up practically all night with a newborn. But every time we were up with her that night, Mark and I would just look at each other with the biggest smiles ever. It felt so GOOD to have both of our children home with us.

***New Years Eve we had to take her overnight to Dell Children's Hospital because she had two choking/not breathing episodes. They came to the conclusion of reflux. Now she has medicine and we keep her upright practically all of the time and we have not had any more episodes since:) We look forward to keeping her home and watching her grow now!!!
