I pretty much had to force Jaxon to put on his costume for the library Halloween Party. Of course he ended up having a good time with his buddies. Miriam was quite the stink but at least she looked adorable in this outfit I got for her from Once Upon a Time. We love our weekly story time!!

Our Sad Attempt at Pumpkin Patch Pictures....

The problem is two-fold.
One...we don't know how to use our camera.
Two...our children could not sit still to save their lives.
The end.

Worth the wait

We sold our kitchen table to some friends for a number of reasons; it was too big for our kitchen dining area, it was hard to get in and out of, and we wanted one that was not counter height. After it was gone I started my craigslist search. The search lasted about a month, but here is what that wait got me. The perfect table! I love it!!!! I am so glad I waited for the right one:)

Stuck….it's a good thing.

Mark and I are both from here. His parents live 10 min. down the road in Round Rock and my parents live 15 min. down the road in Austin. As a result our children have been raised seeing their grandparents ALL the time. I realized lately that I totally take this for granted sometimes. There are so many of my friends that live here with no family by them. My kids usually see both sets of grandparents at least once a week…not to mention the nice perk of babysitting for us all of the time. Growing up I did not live close to either set of my grandparents and I ached for it all of the time. After having children and being close to mine, I really don't think I could EVER move away. We are totally spoiled and I love that my kids have been able to form such a special bond with each of them at such a young age. We love grammy, grandma, papa, and papa!!!

Canadian Thanksgiving:)

Oh my word we had so much food!! Ham, Turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, cream corn, stuffing, salad, funeral potatoes, rolls, and fruit salad. And that was just dinner...
For desserts we had a HUGE pumpkin pie with pumpkin pie ice cream, lemon tassies, chocolate raspberry tassies, mint cookie tassies, and a score bar cake. It was all sooooo good. We definatly started out the holidays with a bang!
My mom has a flat stanley from my adorable cousin, so of course we had to get a picture with the kiddos. My kids are never too good at that.
Layla is the best little "babysitter". She always loves to play with Miriam and "take care" of her. Miriam of course loves it too.
I love that I have Canadian heritage. My mom is Canadian and so every year we get to start off the holidays celebrating our Canadian heritage. I am so grateful for my family and where I have come from. I am grateful for my grandparents and the examples they have set for us and all that they have done for us. I am grateful for all of my family and for the bonds that we share and the relationships that we have even though we live so far away. Love you guys.

On the go

Bet you can't guess what the title of this post means! She isn't literally running or walking yet…but I'd say she is getting pretty darn close. She basically sprint crawls and climbs up on EVERYTHING!!! She can even stand on her own for a few seconds. My little girl is getting so big!

These two munchkins play so well together that is seriously makes me melt. Jaxon is the best big brother and she just adores him!

Halloween Decorations

I got the craft bug and made this on girls night last week. Forgive the picture….I never know how to use my camera. I just used yarn to wrap it and then made little black rossettes. The letters I got from Hobby Lobby and just painted and added glitter. Tada.

What a nice day!! We started off sleeping in until 7:30 !!!!! Yes you read that right! That never happens!

We headed to Old Settler's park to join in an ultimate frisbee game...only the boy was REALLY wanting dad time so we ended up just playing around outside and chatting.

Mark took Jaxon with him to Home Depot to get wood to make a workbench and they ended up staying for the kids class. Jaxon got to make a helicopter. He has been playing with it all day:)

The best part of the day was conference. Let's, be honest....with kids it is pretty hard to listen to all of the sessions, but today we were pleasantly surprised. Jaxon played nice and quietly and asked random questions here and there while Miriam entertained herself on the floor for the WHOLE time! Mark and I actually got to listen! A miracle! The two topics that struck me personally today were geneology, and families. If I have enough time to sit and write a blog post then I have enough time to do a little family history work. I was also thinking alot about families and the world that we live in. Now that we have a little boy and a little girl I have had many people (most of them strangers) say "oh how you can be done". It is really sad to me that we live in a world now that looks down upon having children. Believe me when I say I do not plan on having 7 kids, but I do want to have more. I think it was nice to be reminded today that traveling, jobs, money, etc.... are not more important than families. Anyways, just a few of the things that I have been thinking about:) Can't wait to hear more tomorrow.
