2012 Austin Out of the Darkness Walk

For the last several months as a family we have been fundraising for this walk.  The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is at the forefront of research, education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce loss of life from suicide.  We were so humbled at the support and donations given by so many families and friends.  We were only able to do it because of you.  Even if we were only able to help prevent one life from being lost it was worth it.
It was an emotional day, but it was for a good cause.
I love you and miss you more than you know Nate.

All of the pictures were taken by Ginny Belofsky from Ginny B Photography.  Thanks for sharing Ginny!
So many friends and loved ones here to support
Mom and Dad
Us, Jenna, Trever, and Stephen.  Dave and Jessica and the babies came as well.  We love you guys and are so grateful for your love and support.
Hayden, Kaiya, Layla made posters to carry
Mom and the girls during the ceremony
During the Ceremony.  They rang a bell for the names of all the loved ones lost by suicide of those in attendance.  It was heartbreaking how long it went on.
Once much support!  Team Nathan

  1. It was a humbling and eye opening experience to be at the walk in UT. Im sure Austin was even more so. I just love you guys. Nates passing is tragic and misunderstood and so many other things and I dont know many people who would have approached it like the Duncan family- to be able to be progressive and productive towards such an amazing cause, in spite of grieving. Im sure his heart was swelling with gratitude in heaven. Happy Birthday to him tomorrow. Thinking of you all as im sure tomorrow will be another hard day.. Big hugs and loves and prayers and happy happy memories of Nathan. Love you.

  2. Such touching pictures and what you were able to do. I am glad that you were able to do this. I love you! Hugs!!!
